Dancing Oct 1st 2009, Oct 7th 2009
I'm learning something new again! Fun! According to me learning something new automatically gives you improvement in these CAS outcomes:
- Increased awareness of your strengths and areas for growth
- Undertaking new challenges
- Develop new skills
According to our CAS supervisor in year 2, "Planned and initiated activities" was automatically an outcome whenever you joined a new activity so I put that down as an outcome again.
Dancing in a group like you do in Street Dance definitely enhances "Working collaboratively with others" because we have to dance in relation to what the others do, if we just dance whatever it won't look good on stage! Also "Show perseverance and commitment" is something that is related to learning all these moves and then fulfilling it by performing them on stage at the end of the course. We have to practise a lot before that day comes!

IB news paper 21/1-09
I interviewed Mike (Loshak) for the coming issue of the IB Board. It was quite... interesting getting to know my arts teacher a little better. I couldn't quite decide how to write the interview, since I haven't done an intwerview before, but finally I settled for a "20 questions format" and hoped that that would be recieved well.
IB News paper and Musical meeting 20/11 2009
We had a half hour musical meeting today, mainly for organizing; planning and gathering everybody, making sure everyone knew what to do and what their responsibilities are. We decided some things for our "big" meeting next week when we're really getting down to business, so to speak.
Yesterday I put together my first article for the IB Board. It's about travelling, and I decided to focus on the Strip in Las Vegas. I've never been involved in a school paper before and I don't know if journalism has any special rules or whatever, but hopefully I'll learn as I go. This time I figured out that finding sources takes way more time than actually writing the thing, for example. I met the deadline (or rather, I handed in the article before Gabby started nagging on me to get it done).

Musical Scenography Group 28/8 and 11/9 2008
Aug 28: We were mainly caught up on information about the musical such as songs and auditions. We listened to some of the songs in the musical to get a feel for them.
Sept 11: We did some improv. and singing exercises. I found out that I'm pretty good at keeping a beat, but I haven't improved my singing at all (not that I imagined I would've). The improv exercises were especially interesting because I realized that you can use pretty much any object, or no object at all, and still make a very believable skit. Besides that it was also interesting to see how differently people went about acting out the improv.
